Jay glanced up from the menu. No, he wasn't really choosing anything. No, he wasn't really reading the menu. He caught Malice's gaze with the same look he did that weekend. A smile crept up on his expression, then a chuckle broke in. She must've laughed as well. "So anything exciting happen today?" he asked, starting a conversation.

She chuckled, “It’s Monday. Nothing exciting ever happens on Monday.” She said with a little eye roll. “Or are your Mondays ten times more exciting than mine?” She said, glancing at the menu before laying it down in front of her and propping her head up on her fist, looking at Jay.

Her smile died down also until her eyes fell down to the table. “What college did you apply to?” Her voice held no sense that she was worried he would leave and never come back. Malice was going to a public college in the state, her family wasn’t the richest, but they also weren’t the poorest. They thought Public college was the best.

She looked up at him. So he was moving away. Whenever someone said that, they never meant it. “Okay...” She said, her voice sounding a little disappointed. Malice bit her lip, not really knowing what to say to that. She couldn’t just tell him to apply to a closer college. That was just cruel. “I hope you get accepted.” She said with a forced smile.
