I walked along the shoreline of the beach in my shorts and bikini top. It was way too hot out today! I mean, sure, I lived in California, and it was always hot, but today was especially hot. I hadn't even bothered to wear shoes, there was no point in that at the beach. If you wear anything that's not open-toed, you get sand and water in them. If you wear open-toed shoes, like sandals or flip flops, then they fall off. You just can't win with shoes at the beach. My short shorts were plain white and fit just right and my top was pure black and also fit pretty well.

I was by myself, as usual, considering everyone was afraid to be around me since my dad was put in jail. I was living on my own now with my little sister Ashlyn. My dad was in jail and my mom had never cared about me other than when she cared to beat me. I left my mom when I was fourteen. Ashlyn was five. I took her with me. Our mother was an abusive drunk and cared about no one but herself. So I went to find my dad. There's a lot more to that story than you need to know.

Ashlyn walked alongside me in her shorts and tank top. Her bathing suit was under the cute little outfit but I think she knew I wasn't really up for swimming. She continued to lick the rainbow colored snow cone as we walked. She would be eight next month, and I wasn't sure if I could afford to pay to celebrate like we had last year. Everything was so stressful when you were 17 and living on your own with a kid.

Vincent had happened to have a free and calm day today. He thought about the beach with his friends and he called them up. Once they had agreed to it, he packed up beach stuff, towl, sunscreen,etc. Once done, he met his friends, they headed to the beach and set up. He shoved his friend palyfully and laughed as he fell into the sand. Vince put his backpack down and pulled out the sunscreen.he tossed it to his friend Ross and slipped off his shirt, showing his pack. He cought the sunscreen as it was tossed to him and he sprayed it on himself (it was the spray one)

Katherine and Ashlyn were walking and saw a bunch of boys taking off their shirt. Ashlyn gave them dirty looks and screamed ew while Katherine grinned, trying not to stare.

Vincent heard a small voice saying 'ew'. he looked around and then spotted the small child and the girl who happened to walk with her. He winked and waved towards her before turning to ross who just went missing. Turns out he went to the water. Vincent laughed

Katherine and Ashlyn's corgi dog, Kristy, had been following them. Katherine turned to the younger voice and crouched to her level. "Ash, will you take Kristy to go play in the water?" The younger girl nodded excitedly and took the dog running to the water. Katherine slowly approached the boy, giving him a beautiful smile.

Vincent smiled at the girl and walked towards her, once he met up with her, he stopped walking "Hello, I'm Vincent" he took her hand and kissed it lightly with a chuckle "Whats your name?"

Katherine blushed when he kissed her hand and grinned. "Katherine Rose (Rose is her middle name not last), and you?" She glanced back to see Ashlyn throwing a stick for the short little dog.

Vincent nodded "Thats a wonerful name. What brings you to the beach today? Alittle too hot? Or just bored."

Katherine laughed and shrugged. "Both, but it was actually my little sister's idea." Katherine guestured to the dog and girl by giving her head a little nod in that direction.

Vincent nodded "Ah I see. Well its nice to meet you." he was still shirtless x3. He streched slightly "wanna come join my friend and I in the water?"

Katherine hesitated, then nodded when she saw that Ashlyn was playing with an old friend of Katherine's and his dog. She nodded, smiling and slipping off her shorts. She stood there feeling awkward in just her bikini.

Vincent was already in his swimsuit "here, let me take this" he took the shorts kindly and folded them up, placing them on his towl, he then walked with her to the water. once his feet met the water, he smiled as the water ran on his feet

Katherine smiled and slowly followed behind him. Once she reached the water she ran in, not expecting the water to feel like ice. She squealed, jumping back and landing on her butt, still in the water.

Vincent watched and laughed, helping her up, 'Cold eh?" he chucled and let her go and ran in, he dived into a wave then he came up, shaking his hair out of the water "Wow that feels good" he chuckled and looked at Kathrine "Come." he held his hand out

Katherine laughed and shook her head. "Noooo of course nootttt.... I just scream and jump on my butt for no reason!" He dove in and I sighed. What the heck? I dove in next to him, my black-blue hair flowing under the water.

Vincent laughed and watched her come back up from the water, He stood her up ad smiled,moving her hair from her face "Know how to dodge a wave?"

Katherine smiled and shook her head. "Nope! But I'm assuming you're about to show me?" She ducked back under and swam away from him, being a bit of a tease.

Vincent nodded before she started swimming away "oh?" he went after her and grabbed her foot, pulling her to him. He came back up with her and laughed, as a wave came, he held her and jumped as he went over it. "Cant get away from me so easily"

Katherine squeaked and laughed when he pulled her up. He pulled her close, but she slipped out of his arms and away, laughed. "Oh really? I think I can."

Vincent laughed "Alright, you win, Kathrine." he got out of the water and shook his hair out, the water sliding down his mucles and his skin

Katherine laughed and swam and chased after him. "Don't go!" She laugh/called.
