Richard scoffed. "Well that's you then! Me mum, she don't like no one now!" He rolled up his sleeve, showing a skinny arm covered in bruises. "Especially not me."

I look at him with sympathy, "I'm sorry." I had a strong urge to hug him but I
didn't. I wish I had some sob story to tell people but I honestly don't. I had a
great childhood with two awesome, caring parents who never hit me with
anything. I was daddy's little princess at one time and my life was just perfect.
I felt sorry for Richard...
