Hello!
This is my story I've been planning for over six months. I'm posting it here before I upload it on Wattpad to see what kind of reception it gets. All criticisms and commets would be appreciated. :)

NOTE: Cadentium translated in Latin means "the fallen". ;)

UPDATE: I am re-doing the Prologue of this story. I didn't like how the previous one was all science-fiction-y. So, I'm re-doing it and this time y'all get some music to help set the mood. ;) Again though, I would really appreciate some feedback.
Thanks!

Prologue

Five years earlier…

Emma suddenly stopped in her tracks, her dull-violet eyes flashing with worry as she whipped her head around and saw, to her horror, the few immortals who hadn’t been fast enough to escape the guards. Choking on her tears that gathered in her eyes, she felt a spark of rage ignite inside of her, teeth grinding together as she turned her head towards the rest of the group running from the burning building.
Even with her bloodstained, ash-sprinkled face, the realization of what she had to do was clear. No one would make it out of here in time if something- or someone slowed down those guards. Lurching forward as she snapped out of her thoughts, she managed to snatch Nathan’s arm and yanked him back.
“Emma, what the hell are you doing? We have to leave!” Nathan hissed, trying to pull his arm out of Emma’s hard grip. Looking at Nathan with grim determination in her eyes, Emma’s lips tightened as she stared at the only person who she could trust right now.
“Nathan, listen to me. None of us are going to make it if somethi- someone, doesn’t slow down those C.I.G.’s,” she breathed, Nathan narrowing his eyes as he ripped his hand away, turning his head.
“What are you saying, Emma?” he asked tensely, backing away slightly, his instinct telling him to bolt before it was too late.
“What I’m saying is,” Emma started, pausing before she continued, “is that I’m staying behind. None of you will make it far enough away without something to distract those guards.”
Nathan stared at Emma, a flicker of sadness in his eyes as he averted her gaze, searching the ground as if it would give him an answer. Placing a hand on Nathan’s shoulder, Emma looked at him as she said, “Just tell the others that I chose to stay behind and help if they ask.”
Nodding his head, Nathan took a shaky breath before turning and breaking into a run, not even glancing back.
Emma held her black wings tightly against her back as she watched Nathan sprint towards the others, a flash of pain and sorrow in her eyes as her mind finally caught up with what she had just chosen to do. Forty-five years she had rotted in this so-called ‘facility’ in a cage where she was mentally, physically, and spiritually tortured in the name of science.
Now, her one chance at freedom from this prison was going to be used to unsure her friends and everyone who had been held captive here had that chance at freedom too. Taking in an uneven breath of the toxic, smoke-filled air, she slowly turned around and approached the burning building where guards, both human and immortal alike, poured out from the doors. Fists clenching, jaw tightening, and wings spreading out steadily, Emma locked her eyes in the fallen form of Korany- the man who had caused all of this.
Quickening her pace, a few guards noticed her and the ones with weapons raised them, clicking the safety off and preparing to fire. With fluid, elegant, lighting-fast moves that were almost beautiful to watch, Emma leapt forward and smacked the weapons out of their hands, grabbing the side-arm holstered to their hip and firing.
At the sound of gunfire, more guards became aware of the rogue and ran over to shut her down, most of them without weapons.
When the last bullet blasted out of the guns barrel, Emma scowled and threw it aside, spreading her wings and slapping away a guard who tried to flank her. Watching her fight was almost like reading poetry; the way her body moved so smoothly, knowing exactly what to do with every movement.
“Restrain her!”
“Shut her down!”
“Stop her!”
Orders were shouted as Emma mercilessly cut down more and more guards, hoping that she too would be able to make it to freedom, but knowing within the depths of her heart that she wouldn’t. There were too many guards, and only one her- no matter how strong, swift, or powerful she was.
A guard snatched her arm in attempt to hold her steady, but, with movements like a reflex, Emma twirled herself towards the guard, spinning him in the other direction and hooking her leg around his elbow.
With a tight grip on the guards arm, she straightened her leg with a kick, feeling the guards shoulder snap out of place. Suddenly, pain exploded on the inside of her knee, sending her to the ground and hearing an ominous click from her wrists as she braced her fall.
Whipping her head around, wings flaring upwards, she grabbed the hand that came at her with a knife, snatching the blade from it and yanking the body of the guard closer. Lodging the knife inside of the guard’s abdomen, she used his weight to help flip herself over and land on her feet, ripping the blade out as the guard smashed into another behind her.
Throwing the knife at yet another guard, she twirled around on her foot and landed a killing blow to the side of a guard’s head, not a flicker of remorse as she heard the bones of his spinal cord snap and shatter. Heart thudding wildly against her chest, Emma whirled around just a fraction of a second to late as pain slashed along her right thigh. Locking her violet-gray eyes on the guard that had shot her, she scowled and lunged forward, knocking the guard’s side arm away with a swift upward kick followed by a punch to the throat.
Gasping sharply when she felt someone lock her arms behind her back, Emma ground her teeth together and used the body of an oncoming guard to flip herself over, taking the guard who held her arms with her and yelling when his body collided with the ground.
Panting, she then screamed out in agony as a tearing pain rippled along her left wing, crumpling to the ground as her balance was thrown off. Trembling, she managed to sneak a heart-wrenching peak at her wing, seeing a long, jagged gash touching the bone and cutting through the membrane underneath the velvety-soft black feathers coating her wings.
Tears pricking her eyes, Emma clenched her jaw tightly and started to push herself up, but was roughly pushed back to the ground with a heavy foot, soon followed by a violent kick to the stomach.
Gasping for the air that had escaped her lungs, Emma looked around for something to defend herself with, spotting a fallen handgun. Snatching it, she aimed a fired three shots before her arm was pinned to the rocky asphalt by a foot, grinding her flesh into the pavement and making her scream. Violet eyes burning with pained rage, she ground her teeth and shouted something unintelligible at the guard looming over her, her heart pounding wildly behind her chest.
Hands snaked under her armpits, pulling her to her feet and then pinning her arms behind her back. Restrained, she felt pain erupt in her stomach again, almost exactly where a blotchy bruise from the kick to her middle was forming, making her face contort.
Body aching all over with several bleeding gashes scattered around, she barely had enough strength to keep her eyes open as the beating she was helpless to fight off. Suddenly, the firm lock on her arms was released and Emma fell to the ground, weakly bracing her fall with her hands and knees, slowly sinking down. A cruel evening breeze blew over her, stinging her open wounds and chilling her battered body.
“Oh, my dear Emma…” a familiar voice cooed with false woe, footsteps coming towards her slowly followed by a sharp snap of his fingers. Roughly yanked to her feet, Emma lifted her violet eyes to Korany’s blue ones and felt a spark ignite in them again, some life and strength returning to her spirit.
“You have the chance to escape, something you’ve ranted and raved about doing for almost fifty years, and now you stay behind for revenge?”
Emma shook her head, a maniacal grin spreading on her bloody lips as she started to laugh hysterically, pain flaring in her chest as she choked, coughing up a blood. Gasping, she struggled for a moment and glared at Korany, her violet eyes cold and unforgiving.
“I wouldn’t stay here for revenge on you sick bastards if you promised me the keys to the damn kingdom,” she spat harshly, her voice bitter and cutting through the air like a sharpened blade. With her words, Korany’s expression fell, a scowl fumbling onto his lips as he leaned close to her face and narrowed his eyes.
“Then why did you stay behind?”
“I stayed behind because I knew…”
“You knew what?” Korany snapped, irritation and rising anger in his voice as he stared at Emma who had turned her head away from him, her gaze drifting away until he roughly grabbed her chin and jerked her head towards him.
Tightening her lips, Emma narrowed her eyes and spit in Korany's face, her jaw clenching together as she hissed out her words laced with hatred,
"I knew my friends wouldn't make it far enough to get away if I didn't give them a chance to."
Getting to his feet, Korany wiped the spit from his face and flashed a glare at Emma who returned his glare with one that gleamed with defiance. Glancing at the guard to his left, he gave a silent signal and the guard stepped forward, punching Emma in the stomach harshly as she was lifted onto her feet by the two other guards holding her.
"Emma, you don't have any friends," Korany reminded cruelly, a dark chuckle leaving his cracked lips as he brushed a few strands of fallen hair away from his eyes.
Doubled over in pain throbbing throughout her body, Emma felt her fists ball up as she ground her teeth angrily as she squeezed her eyes shut.
"Yeah, so what? Everyone here deserved that chance to escape more than I did..." she spat, refusing to look up and see Korany's sneering face as he raised an eyebrow, rubbing the back of his neck.
"You know, I actually believe that statment of your's, because, for once, it's the truth," he sighed, laughing softly to himself at the end of his words as he blinked slowly and shook his head.
Lifting his head, he turned to one of his officers and snapped his fingers in an ordering manner,
"Ordel, call the Secretary of Defense and tell him that not all is lost."
"Yes sir," Ordel said, his voice robotic and flat as he turned and walked stiffly to a phone attached to a truck. Kneeling down next to Emma who had fallen silent, Korany smirked lightly and tilted his head gently, looking at her sideways.
"Risking your life for others to get away... That just doesn't sound like you, Emma."
"Like you would know me, James. I've been around longer than the human race, and it really gave me some time to develope a complex character."
"Hm, isn't that the truth?" Korany mused, lifting his head when Ordel called his name and gestured for him to take the phone. Straightening up, he walked over and took the phone, nodding at Ordel and putting his ear to the receiver.
"Korany, you want to explain what the hell is going on?" a firm but aggrivated voice demanded over the line.
"Mr. Secretary, please, there will be time for explinations later. Right now, I need you to get a cryo-tube ready for a patient,"
There was a pause and the line crackled before a sigh was heard and the voice of the Secretary spoke again,
"Which patient is it?"
"Patient zero"
"We'll be ready when she gets here."
"Thank you for your cooraperation, Mr. Secretary."
Hanging up the phone, Korany straightened his coat and walked back over to Emma who had slipped back into her unusual silence.
"So, which prison is it now?" she hissed, bitterness lacing her words as she glared at the black ground, shadows dancing across its surface from the flames burning down the facility. Korany chuckled to himself momentarily before dropping his eyes down to her form and smirking,
"Your very own, dear." Snapping his fingers, the two guards standing beside Emma picked her up, dragging her towards one of the trucks. Struggling for a moment, Emma ripped one of her arms free and snatched Korany's wrist, giving him a warning glare with her black eyes.
"When I get free, which we all know I will, you'd better watch your back; because the next time we meet, I won't miss my oppotunity to kill you." she hissed before she was knocked out by a heavy thump on her head from the butt of a rifle. But not before she saw something that made her heart stop, something that made rage ignite in her eyes.
Standing not fifty meters away was Raven, hiding behind a thick tree and watching Emma being beaten and taken away.
She just stood there and did nothing! That was the last fleeting thought in Emma’s mind before blackness consumed her.
"Don't worry, sir, we won't give her that chance," one of the guards reassured the stony face of Korany who shut his eyes and shook his head, sighing.
"Oh, I know she's going to kill me one day. But," he said, turning and opening the passenger door of the truck, "that day isn't quite here yet."

The Breach

Cadentium Spark: Awakening "The Breach" (Chapter 1)

Well, here's chapter 1- enjoy! (Sorry it's kind of boring towards the end... >_< The next chapters will be better, though- I promise! ;D)

==============================================================================

==============================================================================

Lukas stepped over the fallen bits of wood from the broken table, his eyes locked onto the feeble form of Peter Ordel who muttered something desperatly. Harshly kicking him onto his back, Lukas kneeled down and gripped him by the collar of his shirt.
"Speak up, Peter. I don't believe I can hear you when you mumble to the ground," he sneered, a sick grin crawling onto his lips as Peter tried to jerk away.
"I said God will deliver me from the fate you serve, foul demon!" he spat, spitting a mouthful of blood at Lukas's face, his eyes gleaming triumphantly.
As soon as Peter had returned home, he had known that their was an evil presence in his house, he had known what it was; and he was almost positive why it had come.
Chuckling darkly, Lukas roughly released his grip on the mans collar and smirked down at him, narrowing his eyes.
"Dear Peter, who do you think is planning this? Does the book of Revelation not say that the Anti-Christ will come to power and rule one day?"
Peter Ordel felt his heart clench at the demons words, his mind going back to the passages of the book of Revelation where he realized that the idea actually made sense.
But, still; things didn't quite add up.
When he had come home, all his files were littered on the floor, each gone through thoroughly as if something were being looked for in particular.
"That is not why you came, demon. You came looking for something I possess, didn't you?"
Lukas ran a hand through his hair and sighed, reaching to his left and picking up a few papers, lazily looking them and then putting them down.
"Yes, I did..." he said softly, his eyes dropping down to the ground for a split-second before he turned and picked up a red-labeled file.
"Five years ago, the D.R.I.N.K.S. facility was burned to the ground and all of its prisoners escaped because of a particular someone," he stated, his voice firm and matter-of-factly, "That someone was a Fallen Angel by the name of Emma Trenton Stone. She was the only immortal captured after that incident, but she disappeared after that night."
Peter narrowed his eyes and grimanced as he pulled himself up with the help of a chair, panting from the effort.
"I know that already. What are you getting at?"
Lukas hardened his gaze and slowly kneeled down again, locking his eyes with Peter's and saying his words slowly,
"Where is she?"
"I don't know."
Suddnely, Peter was flying across the room and hit the opposite wall with a loud crack and hit the floor with a thump. Lukas calmly walked over and picked the man up by his neck, beginning to loose his temper.
"I'll again you again, where is Emma being held?" he snarled, tightening his grip on Peter's throat and making his stuggle as he rasped desperately,
"I don't know! They didn't tell me!"
"Who didn't tell you?" Lukas snapped.
"Korany," Peter weakly said, starting to lose consciousness as his vision funneled and grew fuzzy.
Then, he hit the floor again and gasped for the air he'd been deprived of, taking in great gulps like it was the sweetest thing he'd ever tasted.
"James Korany... I should've guessed that much," Lukas muttered, chuckling softly and rubbing the bridge of his nose as he shut his eyes with a sigh. Turning around, Lukas began to walk away from Peter when his voice called after him,
"You're not going to kill me?"
Pausing in his step, Lukas glanced back at Peter lying on the floor and smirked, walking back towards him.
"No, Peter, I'm not. But," he said, lingering on his last word, "I am going to give you a message for all of those who were involved with that facility."

***

Agent Tarin burst through the doors of the President's office, a handgun raised in his hands as five other Secret Service agents followed up behind him quickly, scowering the room for any threats. Finding none, two agents retreated back tot he door and shut it, standing post. Tarin appraoched the President who was now standing with an outraged look on his face.
"What is the meaning of this?" he snapped, giving Tarin a firm and steady glare. Hoilstering his gun, Tarin gave the President and respectful dip of his head and explained.
"Mr. President, a few moments ago, I received word of a threat to your wellbeing,"
"What threat?" the President asked, his voice calmer this time as fearful curiousity creapt into his heart.
Tarin snapped his fingers and the agent to his left came forward, presenting a tape recorder with a caset tape inside, pressing play. For a moment, there was nothing; only sputtering and crackling.
Then, a voice came on- calm, cool, collected, but sinister enough to chill the marrow in any man's bones.
"Good day to you, Mr. President. I'm sure you've already been informed of my 'threat' in this tape, but I asure you; it is only a warning that I strongly suggest you heed."
There was a pause before the voice spoke again.
"My name is Lukas Xaiver Rittman, and to answer an un-asked question, I am a demon. Don't be foolish enough to think that this is a hoax by some angry patriot who wants revenge. To prove my point, I present you with Captain Peter Ordel."
There was a click and with that, the tape ended and the room fell quiet.
"Ordel?' the President finally said, breaking the silence and looking at agent Tarin with a confused expression. "The last time I heard from him was four years ago... What does this Lukas want from him?"
"It's not what he wants from me, Mr. President, it's the information he wants from you." Peter Ordel said, his voice still shaken from his encounter with the demon.
"What do you mean?"
"Last night he attacked me and entarogated me for information about..." his softened and trailed off as his eyes dropped to the ground momentarily.
"About what, Captain?"
Gulping, his Adams-apple bobbing, Peter took a breath and finished his sentence slowly.
"He asked me about patient zero from the D.R.I.N.K.S. project five years ago, and where she was being held currently. I told him I didn't know."
Narrowing his eyes as he processed this information, the President turned to agent Tarin again and spoke with a demanding tone,
"How does this affect my safty?"
Grabbing another tape, Tarin placed it in the recorder and pressed play, nodding his head towards it in a gesture for the President to listen. The first few seconds were like the first tape; crackle and sputtering before the voice came on.
"I assume the good Captain explained to you about last night's predicament. Now, down to business."
The voice paused for a moment.
"Five years ago, the secret facility which housed the 'personel' of project D.R.I.N.K.S. all escpaed because of a particular someone. That someone, as I'm sure you gentlemen and or ladies all know, was a Fallen Angel by the name of Emma Trenton Stone- or, as you all call her, patient zero.
"Again, as you all know, she was the only immortal to be captured during that rather unfortunate incident, and hasn't been heard of since. All I want to know is where she is now. Nothing more, nothing less.
"However, if you refuse to tell me willingly, I can garentuee you this: I will find where she is being held, and I will kill all of those that don't tell me- of course, after I ask them. If you don't believe me, why don't you turn on the news and see what happened to the Governer of Virgina, the Secretary of Defense's assistant, and several other politically-attached people who were strongly involved with the D.R.I.N.K.S. project- before and after."
The tape clicked softly when it stopped, leaving the room in another stunned silence, though, this one had much more of a foreboding atomosphere to it.
The President blinked rapidly as he slowly stepped back and fell into his chair, placing a hand over his mouth and tapping the arm of the chair with his fingers accordingly. News like this was deeply disturbing.
Finally, after a long moment of silence, agnet Tarin broke the ice with a question,
"Mr. President, what is your course of action?"
For the second time that day, the doors were opened and an uninvited guest walked inside- though this one had a reputation to back him up.
"Perhaps I can suggest a solution, Mr. President, if that's all right with you."
"James Korany? What in God's name are you doing here?" the President exclaimed, standing up once more.
"With all due respect, Mr. President, I was the head of the D.R.I.N.K.S. project; I was suprised this Lukas character didn't come after myself first."
Another silence fell over the room as the President sighed, rubbing his forehead and sitting down again, Korany stepping beside agent Tarin.
"What do you suggest then, James?"
"Well, I figure we fight fire with fire."
"And how do you intend to do that?"
"It's a risky idea, but a simple one."
"Care to elaborate?"
"Lukas claims to be a demon, yes? Well, I do believe we know several powerful immortals who can help us."
"What are you saying?" the President and Peter said at the same time, hesitant curiosity in their voices.
"Christian Mantra, Amber Markez, Raven Aparam, Nathan Lorick, Elena Willis; all very powerful and well known immortals who can help us."
"Are you out of your mind?" Peter nearly screamed, his eyes widening. He had been a guard at the D.R.I.N.K.S. facility, and James had just named off five of the most dangerous immortals he guarded there. Asking them to help the government to kill a demon threatening to kill all of them would be like asking a mouse to jump inside a cats mouth. They'd never do it.
"I agree with Peter, Korany. You're talking madness!"
"Just, here me out, okay?" James said, gesturing with his hands for everyone to calm down. "My plan is this; we track those immortals down, and make a deal."
"What kind of deal?" the President immeadiatly asked, narrowing his eyes.
"They help us take out Lukas, and in return, they will never be prosecuted, obducted, or anything by the government again. Basically, they earn their freedom if they help us."
"I suppose that may pursuade them..." the President mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"And..." James said slowly, hesitating and waiting for everyones attention again. "I recommend we awaken Emma from her cryo-sleep."
Suddenly, the President shook his head and smaked his hand on his desk, looking up at James.
"I agreed with you right up until then. We can't do that; she's too damn dangerous!"
"I only recommened that we bring her into the solution; not that we actually do."
Everyone in the room stayed quiet for a moment as they all thought, comparing the good and bad that could come of this descion. Finally, the President sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose.
"Alright, who do we track down first?"
Nodding his head, James stepped back and took a deep breath.
"I figured we start with the hardest and work from there."
"And who'd be the hardest?"
"Christian Alex Mantra"

Well, here's chapter 2, and like I promised, this will be better than the last chapter! ;) A little more humor... xD Music for the chapter is in the side bar. You may have to replay it a few times...
A/N:
I'm really sorry this chapter took FOREVER to upload... -_- I'm having a really difficult time in my life, and I've found it hard to even attempt to write anything. For a while, I was too depressed over what was happening to satisfy my Wattpad-withdrawl. >.< But, I'm back on the track and I'm trying to get back into the flow of things.

==============================================================================

Christian strolled down the streets of the dimly lit town, a girl by his side with his hand wrapped around her waist. Pulling her down an alley, he gently pressed her against the wall and bent down to kiss her. At first, that's all it was- just a simple kiss.
Then, he started to draw out her soul, opening his eyes to watch the life drain from her rosy cheeks. Being a demon, he fed on the innocent souls of humans he stumbled upon and charmed.
Once he had taken all that he needed to, he felt himself grow unreasonably happy and scowled. Taking a human soul was the best thing he could think of doing, it gave him a rush. The only downside, however, is that he saw briefly what the victim was thinking about- and this girl had been thinking about unicorns.
Muttering under his breath, Christian hid the body and walked out of the alley, headed for the hotel that was his home for the night or however long he stayed there. Strolling along the streets, he walked inside the building and went up to his room, taking off his jacket and tossing it in a chair.
Sighing tiredly, he didn't even bother to turn around in order to know that four uninvited guests were in his room.
"Have a good night hunting?" one of the men asked as Christian turned around, a dark frown on his face as he shot a glare at the four men.
"Just had my last one for the night," he replied coolly, trying to figure out why these men here hadn't already knocked him out to bring back to the government. That was why they were here, wasn't it?
One of the men chuckled softly and stepped forward so Christian could get a clear look at his all-too-familiar face.
"Dirty thoughts I suppose, Christian?" Korany mused, avoiding the demon's angry gaze for a moment longer until he lifted his eyes and locked them. Christian shot an angry look at Korany, a forced but dark smirk pushed onto his lips.
"I wouldn't exactly call that girls take on pink unicorns dirty, if you know what I mean," he countered, shooting a glare at the four men once again. Despite his clam but angry look to him, Christian was actually as tense as a jackrabbit and could only wait to react.
A silence settled in the room like a heavy weight pushing down upon everyone, pressuring them to say something.
"Alright, let's cut this sentimental crap, Korany, " Christian finally snapped, crossing his arms and narrowing his blue eyes, "Why are you here?"
James sighed and pursed his lips in thought for a moment, trying to figure out a way to tell the demon. Stepping forward once more, he extended his hand, which held a folder with red lettering on it, gesturing for Christian to take it.
Christian switched his gaze between the folder and Korany for a long moment, hesitating to take it. With a heavy sigh, he reached out a snatched it, shooting the doctor a warning glare.
Opening the file, Christian silently read it's contents, his eyes narrowing every now and then as scowl taking place on his lips. Finally closing it, he slapped it down on the small bedside table next to him and gave Korany a cold glare of curiosity.
"What the hell kind of proposition is this? You break into my room to feed me this shit, and then expect me to help you?" he snarled, anger lacing his words.
Taking a bold step towards Korany, Christian glared and locked his eyes with the man who had caused him fifteen years of pain and misery. "What's your damage, James? You really think I'm going to help you?"
"Perhaps, if you were offered something in return... Something you could use."
Falling silent, Christian took a step back and sat down in one of the chairs, looking coldly up at Korany.
"Alright, you got my attention. What're we talking here? It better not be money; that green paper shit is useless in my world,"
James shook his head and pulled out a chair from the small table for himself, sitting down and offering a sly smile at Christian.
"No, no. I know you too well for that. Let's talk more along the lines of, oh, say, freedom?"
"Freedom?" Christian asked, raising his chin slightly, a gesture for James to elaborate, as his left eye twitched.
"Yes, freedom from prosecution by the government. You do this for us, and we no longer consider you a 'threat', per say, to the human race."
"So you won't be coming after me again with a scalpel trying to cut open my head?"
"No."
Another silence fell over Christian as he leaned back in the chair, pondering over what Korany had said. If he kept his word, which Christian was doubtful he would do, then he wouldn't have to live in fear of a team of S.W.A.T. agents breaking into his room every night to take him back to a facility where he would be thrown in a cage.
Narrowing his eyes, he leaned forward and looked James straight in the eye, trying to pick out any sign of fault in his eyes. Finding none, he glanced down at the file again.
"You give your word that I'll be free from being prosecuted for being what I am?"
"I give my word, Christian."
With a sigh, Christian stood up and extended a hand, a troubled frown on his face as Korany took his hand and shook it.
"Alright, I'll do it."

Amber sat in one of the black leather chairs in the cold room, her arms crossed over her chest as well as her legs beneath the table. Sighing, she laid her head back on the pad of the chair, spinning around in slow circles as boredom overthrew her normally mature temperament.
Then, the doors opened and three unfamiliar humans walked into the room, which was irrelevant the second she spotted a very, very familiar face.
"Christian Alexander Mantra..." she drawled, her deep golden eyes locking on his tall frame and narrowing softly as she lowered her chin down to her chest with a chuckle.
"There's no point in saying my whole name, Amber Varilla Markez," Christian remarked, spite forming a smirk on his lips as they curled up at the ends. Pushing aside hello's and how-are-you's, the two immortals stood in front of each other, hesitating before embracing in a hug.
"It hasn't been that long, you know," a feminine voice growled from behind Christian, shooting both of them a dirty look. Chuckling, Amber narrowed her gaze and placed a hand on her hip, returning the girl's glare.
"You're right, Raven. You're still as much of a bitch as you were then,"
"Ouch, that's tough. Score one for the red-head!" Christian interjected, grinning as he watched the two girls continue to glare until Raven fired back,
"Goody-two-shoes cursed! Well, I can see one of us finally grew up."
"Too bad you're still an ignorant little wi-" Amber was cut off as Christian stepped between her and Raven, pushing them apart.
"C'mon, ladies, take it down a few notches or take it off. Either way works, though, " a cocky smirk spread on his mouth, "I prefer the ladder."
Raven chuckled softly as Amber rolled her eyes and muttered something that sounded like, 'immature pig' and went back to her seat. Turning her sea-foam green eyes to Christian who winked at Amber with a sly grin on his face, she sighed.
"Well, I assume life has been wonderful for you, too?" she asked, raising her eyebrow slightly as sarcasm laced her words. Christian turned to Raven and rubbed his chin, giving her a 'are-you-freaking-serious?' look.
"If you count constantly being on the run, having to feed only once a week, staying in some really shitty hotels, and being plagued by the thought of a S.W.A.T. team bursting in any moment, then yeah, I've been fan-fucking-tastic."
"No need to get snippy..." Raven muttered, pretending to pout. Sighing, Christian forced a smile and shrugged.
"Can't help it, Bird."
The two ended their short conversation and went to their seats just as a forth immortal walked in, rubbing his temples. With a groan, he pulled out a chair next to Amber and threw himself down.
"Nathan! Hey, man, how've- what the hell happened to you? You look like shit," Christian blurted, leaning across the table with a serious expression on his face for once.
Nathan chuckled grimly, removing his hands from his temples and flashing a very-much-so forced smile as his lips tightened.
"Let's just say my negotiations were a little..." he paused to find the right word before narrowing his eyes, "timely."
"'Timely'?" Raven questioned, leaning up from her slouched position in her chair and raising an eyebrow. "What, did they catch you in the shower or something?" she snorted, falling back into her chair with a snicker.
"No," Nathan snapped, giving Raven a cold glare.
"Alright, let's be civilized about this, people," Korany said as he walked in, getting four hatful pairs of eyes directed at him.
"Yeah, because you're just the perfect role-model for being civil, Korany." Raven spat, scowling and sinking into her chair. The other three silently agreed with Raven on that comment, sitting back in their chairs silently.
"Now, since you all know why we're here, I won't waste any time explaining the situation."
"Good, because I doubt any of us would actually listen." Christian remarked bitterly, though the smirk and amused gleam in his eyes said he enjoyed pissing the Doctor off.
"Christian, shut up." Amber shot, giving him a scolding glare with her autumn colored eyes. "It's better we get this done and over with than to sit here bitching at one another."
Raising an eyebrow at Amber's defense for him, Korany gave her a curious look before turning his head and switching the power on for the projector he had hooked up. For a few moments he fiddled with the machine, finally signaling for one of the men standing by the door to turn off the lights.
"Our last report on Lukas' location was here- Silverdale, Washington. He was seen lurking outside the west side of the Kitsap Mall. We believe that he's waiting for us, being as he's been there for the past two weeks."
"Why jump to conclusions? He could be taking a vacation; I hear that part of Washington is wonderful this time of year." Raven chided, shooting an amused smirk at Korany who returned it with a glare.
"Transportation has been arranged, but once you are all there, you're on your own. Understand?"
"Yes,"
"Yes,"
"Whatever,"
"What about food?" Christian whined, crossing his arms and doing a bad impression of a girlish pout.
"On. Your. Own." Korany repeated, slowly and deliberately. "Now, any questions regarding transportation and the mission?"
The room remained silent, save for a heavy sigh from Nathan who had leaned forward in his seat with his hands clasped together, a firm line on his tight lips.
"When do we leave?"
"Tomorrow afternoon. It'll be about a three hour flight."
"You're not coming with us, are you? I don't know if I can handle three hours trapped in a small, contained space with you and not beat the life out of you, Doc." Raven sneered, an amused smirk on her mouth but a glint of seriousness in her stormy green eyes.
Clasping his hands, Korany shook his head and sighed dramatically, tilting his head to the side as he look at Raven, forcing a smile.
"No, I'm afraid not, dear. Besides, someone else has claim to taking my life."
"The devil?" Nathan spat, firing a cool, almost mocking stare at the man. Silence fell upon the room until Korany clapped his hands the lights came on, a hidden smirk on his mouth.
"Well, since everything has been sorted out, I'll leave you all to go back to your rooms or discuss anything else." he said as he packed up and left the room without another word, leaving the four immortals confused.
"Sometimes I just want to knock that sick bastard's lights out..." Amber muttered, getting up from her chair and walking towards the door. Suddenly, a warm hand grabbed her hand and turned her around.
"C'mon, Ammy-"
"-Don't call me that, Christian."
"Fine," he sighed, "but at least stay here a little longer? We have a lot to catch up on... All of us."
After a moment of hesitation as Amber warred with herself, she muttered something and shoved Christian aside playfully, flashing him a fail of a glare as she sat back down.
"Well, now that it's just us," Raven declared, propping her feet up on the table, "I think Nathan can elaborate on his 'timely negotiations'." Grinning, she twisted her chair around slightly, a finger twirling her jet-black hair.
"Only if you swear not to put your two-sense in, sweetheart." Nathan snapped, narrowing his eyes and offering a dark smile. Raven let out an exasperated sigh before mumbling out 'yes' and rolling her eyes.
"I don't know about you three, but after that night, I wanted to get as far away from the government as possible. So, I booked it across the States and made it into Mexico. Stayed there for a few months before stowing away inside a ship headed for London. From there, I traveled over to Russia and stayed up in western Siberia for two years.
"As you might've guessed, I got tired of freezing my ass off for 730 days, so I came back to the world of the living. Went down to Mongolia, and lived with some monks for a period of time. Then, before they figured me out, I went southwest and stayed in Egypt for a year. It's a very rich country, if you ever get the chance.
"Somehow, the government found me while I was there, so I started running again. From Egypt, I went up to Greece, and lost them. Well, at least I thought so. They found me again up in Greece, so I moved. In three years, I lived in every country in Europe. Towards the end of those three years, things got really intense.
For five months, I'm almost positive that I got maybe ten days worth of sleep. So, as you can imagine, the government eventually caught me. By then, though, they just wanted to hire me for this little gig. I flipped them the bird and flew up to the U.K., where this whole little cat-and-mouse chase really began. They of course found me, and I agreed. But, being the jackass that he is, Korany left me to find my own transportation here."
"So, how'd you get here then?" Raven asked, moved from her propped-up position and now leaning forward with her head resting in her hands. Nathan let out a dark chuckle, revealing his white wings and flashing her an angry smile.
"I flew. And, for reference's sake, my negotiations were three days ago."
"Holy shit! You flew from England to Washington D.C. in three days?"
"No, sweetheart, I called upon a magical flying unicorn named Fluffy to teleport me here but got drunk off of pixie dust which gave me a really bad hangover." Nathan chided, tapping his fingers together and rolling his eyes. "Yes, I flew."
Raven huffed and leaned back in her chair roughly, muttering under her breath as she crossed her arms over her chest, a frown settled onto her lips.
"You don't have to be so sarcastic."
"But it makes things so much more interesting," Nathan drawled, flashing a smirk at the demon who promptly stuck her tongue out at him.
"Such a childish thing to do..." he sneered, narrowing his eyes playfully at Raven who rolled hers.
"Okay, before another bitching contest breaks out, let's drop it, okay you two?" Christian interjected, raising his hands and giving the both of them firms stares. Turning his gaze to Amber who looked like she was about to fall asleep in her chair, he coughed loudly.
"Ammy-"
"I told you not the call me that." Amber growled with her eyes closed, not even giving Christian the chance to draw out his nickname for her. Sighing, she fluttered her eyelids open and yawned, sitting up slightly. "What?"
"What wonderful joys did you experience during these past five years?"
Amber took in a heavy breath and stayed silent for a moment, mulling over his question. Finally, she sighed once more and blinked slowly, raising a hand to lean her head on.
"For the most part, honestly? I spent two years trying to get a lead on where Emma was..."
Abruptly, the room fell silent at the mention of Emma's name; the immortal who had risked her life for them all.
"Did you find anything?" Christian finally asked, hope imbedded in his deep voice as he looked at Amber.
"No. Wherever she is, whether she be dead or hiding somewhere or being locked up, someone put a lot of effort in covering up her trail."
"What about the last three years?" Nathan asked, his chin resting in his hand. Shrugging, Amber sighed and blinked slowly, a slight smile enveloping her features.
"Not much. I visited some friends I hadn't seen in twenty-five years and caught up with the world. It's amazing how far the human race has come... as well as how far they've fallen behind."
Silence hushed the room once more as the four immortals brooded over the matter. Then, Raven stood up and slapped her hands on the table with a sigh.
"Well, it's been lovely catching up with you all, but I’m hungry. Until tomorrow," she said, turning and exiting the room. With a mumble, Nathan stood up as well and nodded a curt good-bye to Christian and Amber.
"I agree, only in the sense that I'm tired and about to collapse. Night," he said, leaving the room quietly. An uncomfortable silence settled between Christian and Amber as neither said anything or got up to leave.
"Do you think we'll ever find her?" Christian finally asked, looking intensely at Amber who still had her eyes closed. Opening her deep golden eyes, Amber shook her head slowly and breathed gently.
"I don't know. She may just be hiding in wait for the storm to pass over. Despite what you think," she said, getting to her feet and flashing a firm stare at Christian. "Emma isn't always a hot-headed, blood-lusting and revenge-filled being. She knows when waiting something out will save her more trouble than just banging her head against a wall."
Snickering, Christian stood up as well and pushed his chair in with a heavy sigh, tapping his fingers on the edge of the table.
"Somehow, I still find that hard to believe..."
"It natural. Emma is a confusing puzzle, and a lot of pieces are missing; most never to be found again. Now, since we're all caught up, I think I'll take my leave now. The thought of a bed sounds very enticing right now..." Amber said, trailing off as a sleepy look crossed over her face.
Now, only Christian was left in the otherwise empty room, thinking about what Amber had said. Shaking his head and smiling to himself, Christian ran a hand through his hair and opened to the door.
"Natural my ass,"

“Emma, do you ever stop and think things through?” Christian growled as he sat in the passenger seat of the deep violet 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, gripping the side door as he shot a glare at the Fallen Angel who had just nearly thrown him out of the car by turning so sharply. Glowering, he wiped his face with his hand and muttered a curse under his breath, rolling his eyes at his question.
Of course she never thinks things through, she’s Emma: she doesn’t think, she does…
Then again, being as smart as she was, Emma never really had to think things through as they normally went her way.
Laughing into the wind as she threw her head back, Emma shot a playful glance at Christian and smirked with a wink.
“Oh, Christian, lighten up! Even in your dreams you’re a drag,” she remarked, chuckling to herself as she sped up the car, streaking down the road.
“Yeah, and even in my dreams you try to kill me,” he shot back, looking over at her, “You’re crazy.”
Emma’s whole demeanor suddenly changed as she whipped her head at Christian and narrowed her eyes, a scowl on her lips. Gripping the steering wheel tighter as her knuckles turned white, her jaw clenched and her teeth ground together as she spoke.
“Crazy? You peppy spitfuck, are you challenging my sanity?” she snapped, glaring coldly at Christian as he groaned and shook his head. Throwing his hands up in the air, he forced a dark smile onto his mouth and returned Emma’s glare bitterly.
“Why challenge it? It’s already known that you’re a psycho!” he shouted angrily, knowing instantly he made a mistake as Emma’s left eye twitched a bit and remained silent. Turning her head back to the road, she slowly pressed her foot against the gas petal and the car steadily accelerated.
Glancing at the speedometer warily, Christian narrowed his eyes at Emma who ignored his questioning stare.
“So, I’m a psycho, huh?” she questioned ominously, not tearing her gaze away from the road as a smirk pulled up the edges of her lips. Speeding up the car to 95 miles per hour, Emma turned her head to Christian who was gripping his seat and murmuring to himself and shooting her deadly glares.
“Emma, what are you doing?” he growled, flicking his eyes to the street and seeing a roadblock down the road in front of the bridge, warning drivers that it was broken. Slowly, he pieced together what she was planning and snapped his head towards her, a fearful but dumbfounded expression on his face. “You’ve got to be kidding me…” he said, getting a snicker out of Emma who slammed her foot on the gas, jerking the car forward.
“I don’t kid, Christian!” she shouted over the wind screaming past the car, a demented grin settling onto her lips as a flash of sick glee glinted in her eyes.
The car broke through the wooden barriers, reaching a speed of 117 miles per hour just before it leapt off the broken bridge. It was almost like slow-motion while the Camaro was in mid air; Emma howling a ‘whoo-hoo’, Christian gripping the side of the car for dear life.
For a moment, it looked as if they wouldn’t make the jump, but in a matter of seconds the front wheels of the car made contact with the other side of the bridge, the shocks doing a terrible job as the whole thing jolted violently. Both of the immortals heads rocked forward from the impact, Emma recovering quickly as she pressed hard on the gas again, resuming her 80 mile an hour speed down the road.
Bubbling with anger, Christian slowly turned his head over to Emma and narrowed his eyes into slits, shooting a pissed off glare at her.
“You crazy bitch!” he yelled, slamming the dashboard with his foot and about two seconds away from choking her out. Wiping his hands down his face, he continued his rant at her as he screamed every curse word in the books, most of them getting a sly chuckle out of Emma.
“Oh, someone has a potty mouth,” she sniggered, reaching forward to turn up the radio as Papa Roach’s “Kick in the Teeth” blared on, head banging to the beat and shouting to the lyrics. “Don’t fight it, or deny it, invite it!”
Still raging, Christian lunged forward and turned the radio off, shooting Emma the ‘ha-ha-look-what-I-did’ glare and smirking as she whipped her head in his direction.
“Don’t touch my music, dirtbag!” she snapped, switching the radio back on and resuming her singing as she threw her head back, a twisted kind of grin dancing on her lips. Narrowing his eyes, Christian caught on to the fact that she got pissed when he messed with the music, so he turned it off again and shot her a spiteful smirk.
Emma tightened her grip on the steering wheel as she clenched her jaw, glaring at Christian as her eyes snapped to a pitch black.
“I said,” she growled lowly, enunciating carefully, “don’t. Touch. My. Music!” Abruptly, she slammed on the brakes and watched Christian get thrown forward and hit his head on the dashboard, raising an eyebrow at him as she turned the radio back on. “That’s what you get for screwing with my jams, dickweed,” she sneered, accelerating the car again and resuming her singing with the song as it reached its climax.
Rubbing his head, Christian sat up and clenched his fists, turning to face Emma and shoot her an angry glare. Even if this was a dream, he’d had it up to here with her and her antics.
“Bitch,” he snarled, glowering at her and struggling to contain his anger. Cackling into the wind, Emma threw her head back and flashed a grin at Christian as she winked and shook her finger at him, chuckling.
“C’mon, tell me you can do better than that!” she howled, a challenging element to her voice as she turned up the radio, still singing along and driving casually at 90 miles an hour through the city.
“Soul-sucking whore!”
“Oh, I think you hurt my wittle bitty feelings,”
“Psychotic bitch,” he fired back, getting the reaction he was aiming for as the playful, sneering expression Emma had on washed away and was replaced by a murderous scowl.
“Hypocritical jackass,” she spat, her grip tightening on the wheel as she speed up.
“Psycho!” Christian sung with a smirk, knowing he was striking a nerve and winning the trading of insults game between them.
“Man whore!” Emma hissed sharply, rage lacing her whip-lashing words as she snapped her head in his direction and threw her balled up fist at his face, landing it squarely on his jaw.
“Oh, girly’s got some fire in her,” he mused with a grin, enjoying the sight of her so fired up and angry. Slowly turning her head to face Christian, Emma narrowed her eyes just barely before she and the scenery around her faded away into black.
Suddenly, Christian found himself on the top of a building, standing on the roof with no idea how he got up there. Looking around in confusion, he caught sight of a girls figure over by the edge, a pair of velvety black wings sprouted from her shoulders.
Recognizing those wings and those sculpted shoulders anywhere, Christian inwardly groaned before walking over, looking down at what she was gazing at.
“Any particular reason we’re on the roof of a fifty-story building?” he asked, turning his head to look at Emma who had shut her eyes as an ominous smile spread on her lips. Turning around, she shook her long auburn hair away from her face and leaned back against the ridge, her chin tipped up towards the night sky.
“I don’t know, it’s your dream; you tell me,” she remarked, opening her eyes and flashing a half-cocked smirk at Christian who narrowed his gaze.
“What do you mean? For half of this nightmare, you’ve been in control!” he exclaimed, gesturing to her with his hand and letting out an exasperated sigh. Laughing softly, Emma twisted around and laid down on the ridge, shutting her eyes.
"This is true, but then again," she chuckled and tucked her hands behind her head, "I'm not really here, Chrissy. I am just what is left over from your memories of the real Emma. So, technically, I’m just a figment of your imagination.”
Rolling his eyes, Christian huffed under his breath and cocked a dark smirk at her, narrowing his gaze.
“Well, I must keep a good memory of your attitude because you’re just as much of a bitch as you are in reality,” he spat, shooting her a triumphant glare that she simply shrugged off.

Lapsing into a silence, Christian let out a soft breat through his nose and rested his hands on the ledge, leaning against it and gazing out at the dream-scape city before slowly letting his eyes wander over to Emma. Watching her, his eyes flickered with longing as his gaze traveled up her lean body, staring at her for a moment as a frown settled onto his lips.
"What ever happened between us?" he murmured softly, still staring at her with a serious expression as he crossed his arms on the ledge. Despite all the head-ache the Fallen Angel had caused him over the night, the question always seemed to lurk on the outskirts of his mind when he was around her.
Furrowing her brow, Emma propped herself up on her elbows and narrowed her eyes, tilting her head to the side slightly as she returned Christian's stare, a questioning element in her violet irises.
"What do you mean?" she remarked, confused at his random question. The two of them had a long history stained with violence and turbulant relationships, but it was never a subject they touched up on in this context.
"I mean, whatever happened between us? We weren't always like this, we used to be friends- not always trying to kill each other and start fights," Christian said, watching her intently as she bit her lip and nodded faintly.
Turning her head out towards the city, Emma let her gaze wander down the buildings across from her, roaming the streets as if they might give her the answer if probed enough. Sighing, she sat up all the way and wrapped her arms around her knees, slowly returning her gaze to Christian as she bit her lip.
"I couldn't give you an honest answer, Christian. Maybe... maybe we were just never meant to be friends, you know? I mean, you're a demon, and though I may be a Fallen Angel, we're still clashing opposites who aren't really meant to get in friendships like we did," she concluded, hesitation in her voice as she lifted her eyes to Christian's just as he rolled his.
Christian had always felt some sort of connection with Emma, something he couldn't explain in words, but he could just feel was there. It was something that always drew him back to her, no matter how far or near he was.
"C'mon, that can't be the reason our relationship ended the way it did," he countered, rolling his head to the side and giving her a serious look as his frown deepened.
Shutting her eyes, Emma felt a devilish smirk crawl onto her lips as she chuckled softly, shaking her head and shooting him a gentle glare.
"No, our relationship ended because you left me to die," she corrected, dropping her gaze to her lap before slowly returning it out to the dream-scape city, watching the lights of the passing cars. Spreading her wings ever so slightly, she closed her eyes again and let the cool night air blow between them, caressing the soft black feathers.
Opening his mouth to object, Christian stopped himself when he repeated her words in his mind, the words that were on the tip of his tongue retreating back into his throat as his mouth closed. Replaying the memory of that night in his head, he sighed in defeat and nodded.
He had left her to die that night.
Swallowing, he took a deep breath and hesitated before looking at her again, unable to help himself as his eyes roamed along her collarbone.
"Well, if it means anything now, I'm sorry," he confessed with a grumble, glancing down and tapping his fingers against the brick ledge. Hearing a light chuckle, he lifted his head and scrunched his eyebrows together as he saw Emma laughing.
Turning her head to face him, she supressed her grin and shook her head, twisting in her position so her body faced out towards the street.
"Your memories of Emma don't need to hear this, the real one does," she remarked with a wise element to her soft voice before her image wavered and melted away, along with the rest of the backdrop of the city.
Blackness consumed Christian before he opened his eyes and found himself in another change of scenery he had no idea on how he got there. Now, he was standing on a beach at dusk, the bright red sun bleeding into the ocean as it sank below, its last rays of fleeting sunshine reaching up into the sky.
The sand covering the beach was a tawny brown strewn with small seashells and tiny rocks broken off from the large spires protruding up from the ground. Behind him, a tall cliff with red stone blocked out any escape, keeping the small little bay confined.
All together, the place was quite beautiful to the passerby. But, to someone like Christian who was searching for the face he knew would be around the beach somewhere, the beauty of the landscape would have to wait to be noticed.
Spotting who he was looking for, he started to jog over to Emma who was standing by the waters edge, her bare feet in the receding wave with her wings spread out to their full extent.
Just seconds after he started after her, he stopped dead in his tracks and narrowed his eyes. For a split-second, he could have sworn that Emma's wings had been a pure, gleaming white and a silvery aura had enveloped her.
Blinking a few times after the image faded, Christian shook his head and muttered under his breath, this time walking as he approached her in case the flash happened again.
Though it didn't, at his pace, he could really take in what she looked like.
Her tall, lean frame was covered by a loose, spaghetti-strap white dress that stopped around her knees, exposing her rounded shoulders and lower back. Her long auburn hair was down and fell down her shoulders and tipped into the back of her dress, glowing in the last light of the sunset as did her tanned skin. Those huge black wings of hers were spread out and slowly rising up, a peaceful look to them as the feathers on the tips fluttered a bit in the ocean breeze. From his angel, he could see that her violet eyes were closed, a calm, almost happy expression on her face as he watched a smile twitch on her pink lips.
Finally reaching her, Christian stayed silent and just admired the still beautiful Fallen Angel, his arms crossed over his chest as he looked down and slowly walked up next to her.
"Any guesses on why my subconscious chose a beach at sunset for a backdrop?" he questioned, a half-cocked smirk pulled on his mouth as he turned to face Emma who still blindly looked out upon the water.
"I can think of a number of reasons, none of which you would like," she breathed, lowering her head and opening her soft violet gaze, watching the foamy wave come up and wash over her bare feet, bringing a small smile to her lips.
"Well, someone has calmed down quite a bit," he mumbled to himself, rolling his neck to the side and sighing.
For a while, the two of them remained silent and watched the sun dip below the horizon, the last little speck of its orb slithering along the ocean's watery surface, retreating to rise up another day. Soon after, the sky darkened and stars glinted into existance, filling the midnight blue canvas.
"Where do you think the sun goes?" Emma suddenly asked, shattering the silence and turned her head towards Christian as she back upa few feet, sitting down.
"What?"
"I said-"
"-I know what you said, I meant like what are you talking about?"
Pursing her lips, Emma tucked her knees under her chin and narrowed her eyes softly, facing the waves breaking on the sandy beach.
"I always imagined the sun rising up each day and setting at night like a game of cat-and-mouse," she mused, shutting her eyes and unconsciously spreading her wings out a few inches. "The story went like this: A long time ago, the Sun and the Moon were created, and they were lovers. But, the Night and Day were also there, and since they were separated, they thought that everything should be separated from its other half.
"So, they worked together and placed themselves evenly between the Sun and the Moon, splitting them apart by twelves hours each. But, the two loved each other so much that they fought against the Night and Day, racing to see their other half. Eventually, Night and Day grew tired and made a deal with the Sun and the Moon; once every year, they would be allowed to see each other for one night or one day.
"So, now the Sun and Moon can be together again, but they have to wait one year before the moment comes that the Night and Day let them. This created the eclipses, and every night and day, the Sun and the Moon still chase after each other, unfathomably separated by the Night and Day."
Finishing her story, Emma blinked a few times and looked up at Christian who stared at her with a blank expression.
"As wonderful as that story is, something tells me that you overheard it from some villager back in the 1200's," he remarked, sitting down beside her with a chuckle and smirking as she smiled, guilt written all over her face.
"Yeah, well, I still like the idea. So lay off, Chrissy," she shot back, punching his arm not as gently as she meant to with a snicker.
"I know you so well I knew you would call me that sometime," he grumbled, leaning back and tucking his hands behind his head as he looked up at the night sky, his thoughts wandering as he wondered about her story.
Hearing her getting up, he propped himself up on his elbows and narrowed his eyes, a confused expression crossing his features.
"Hm, to bad you don't me well enough to know had this been the real Emma, I would've kicked your ass a whole lot more," she pointed out before winking and walking towrds the inky black water, her wings spreading.
"Where are you going?" Christian called after her, standing up and watching her, the longing look to his eyes returning. Not turning around, Emma laughed into the wind that had picked up, opening her wings.
"Back to your subconscious," she said, her words echoing as the dream faded into blackness once more.

Christian's eyes shot open as the dream ended, rubbing his face and sitting up as he ran a hand through his hair, sighing.

"Always obsessed with kicking my ass and then poofing out of existance," he grumbled, falling back onto his pillow.

A/N:
Yes, this chapter was a little more in depth, and let me just say, I loved writing it. xD Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed it, because I had to rewrite the entire thing. >.< Long story short, my little sister deleted the whole chapter by closing out my window.
So, I rewrote this all in one day. :P
I think it deserves at least one or two comments.
Thanks everyone for reading, and please vote, comment, fan, and share with your friends!
