Young Love

I swallowed hard. "I know. I mean...um....nice to meet you." Dang me and my big mouth. I hefted my bookbag back onto my shoulder and stared at them through my bangs.

Nico chuckled a little. He loved girls who had trouble at talking. "It's nice to meet you too. Well I should go or I'll be late. Peace," He flips his hair and walks to school with his sister.

I sighed as Nico walked away, smiling. He was so cute. I loved it when he flipped his hair. I followed him to the school building, where I went to get seated in Art.

Nico and his sister walked into the school. He said hello to his friends and right away he started to talk about things that you would talk about with guys. Sierra went over to her friends, and he said goodbye to her before she went away.

I sat down on a bench, pulling out a notebook. I started to sketch me, on a bench. I didn't have any friends. No one really liked me.

Nico headed to English class. He was pretty good in this class, but it wasn't his favorite. He really liked Science and it was his best subject.

I headed to English class. It was my second favorite subject. I sat down in the last empty seat next to Nico. My heart pounded as the teacher began class.

Nico noticed Jill was in his class. He smiled and had time to say hello to her.

I said hello back, smiling brightly. I dropped my bookbag on the floor and pulled out my English book.

Nico smiled and took out his English book. He was ready, and it might even be wonderful to have her near him.

I hardly listened as the teacher droned on, talking and talking about something I never heard. Usually, I was all up for English, but something - or someone - was distracting me.

Nico was listening to the teacher talk, but it started to get really boring. He took out a piece of paper and started to doodle a little on the paper.

I leaned over a little, whispering to Nico. "You draw? Me too!" I smile.

Nico covered his doodling and looked at her. "Um, uh... no, I just-" He paused, and started to doodle again.

I look sad. "Oh. Never mind then." I murmur and turn around, immediately picking up the English book.

Nico stopped doodling and got a new piece of paper. He started drawing a female girl, almost looking like Jill.

I peeked over at the drawing, thinking the girl looked familiar.

Nico covered his drawing again. He didn't want her to see it until he was done.

I looked back at my book. Then the bell rang. I stood up, picked up my bookbag, and was about to walk out the door.

Nico just finished the picture when the bell ring. He gathered up his things and handed the drawing to Jill.

I stare down at the drawing. A huge grin spreads across my face and I look up. "Thanks!" I exclaim.

Nico smiles and exits the classroom with a huge smile across his face.

I clutch the picture to my chest and smile. "Yes." I murmur. "Yes."

Nico walks over to his locker and opens it up. He puts his books back in, and then takes his books out for next class.

I walk by Nico's locker and accidentally knock into him, falling over. "Ouch. "
