Hmmm either one is fine with me. Maybe they live in a meadow. But they are tame enough that when they get sick or need to race or have a baby or something their "owners" can come out and get them and do whatever they need to. Do you want to make 2 human girls (sisters or friends) that do that? But they won't be our main characters

Pumpkin was trotting around the meadow, keeping an eye out for any sort of trouble even though he knew it was a pretty safe place. He slowed to a walked and then stopped, lowering his head to graze. He ripped out a chunk of grass and lifted his head, glancing around lazily as he chewed. This was some good grass, he thought to himself, chewing contentedly.
Evy was laying on the ground asleep. She liked sleeping like this because the grass was so lush. She opened her eyes and stood up, stretching a bit. She gave a big yawn and started walking around, warming up her muscles. She surveyed her surroundings, looking for the best grass. She found the greenest patch she could find, well, it was all really green. She tore off a small bit of grass and chewed it.

She heard a neigh by the river and her head turned that way. Was there trouble? Nope. Just a horse drinking. She was suddenly very thirsty. She cantered over to the river and lowered her head to drink. She glanced over at the stallion then raised her head. "Hello there," she said softly.
Pumpkin
He noticed a mare and her foal trotting by the stables. He smiled and galloped their way. He was a friendly horse, always on the lookout for new friends. He slowed as he approached them and dropped to a trot beside them. "Hello you two," he said, addressing them both. "Having a nice day?" He asked politely.
