Why are guys so hot-and-cold? Why can't they just be simple?

One day I'm like his best friend; he flirts with me, talks to me, stares at me, smiles at me a lot, etc. The next effing day, it's like nothing ever happened...
And then there's tonight: the last school dance. I got all dressed up and prettyful and I caugh him looking at me the whole time. Sounds promising right?
Yeah, except that he didn't say a WORD to me...
Someone please help me get a grip on the situation before I drop kick a baby. -.-

2. Girl, he is so in love. Boys are like that. But dont let your feelings show yet. In other words, if your like me, get a diary and write whateve you want in it. Write, 'oh, hes so dreamy!' or 'f him!' or 'he fricking ripped out my heart and stomped all over it!!' yeah, well. Yeah XD. Anyway, dont let your feelings show. If hes serious bout stuff, hell come to you.
3. NO WORDS? Nervous much, boy? This goes with the one day yes, next day Nothin! part. He gets his ego up one day, somethin most likely hapeens, hes freakin out. No words come, nervous stares, etc.

You are not the first northeast last to say that he probably likes me. xD But, it always brings a smile to my face when someone says it. ;)
I'm gonna have to tell him soon 'cause I only have a week and two days left of school. So... yeah.

I know exactly how you feel :/ Two guys at my school have done something like this to me. One guy's name is Nate. Everyday he would make sure he and his friends were hanging out by his locker, which is right by mine, when I got to school. He would watch me as I was walking over and getting my stuff and as I left. I would hear his friends teasing him about watching me. He always seemed to be about to talk to me then he would look away. He's pretty shy at times. I'd always catch him staring at me in history and when we were put into groups he always looked hopeful until we were put into different groups, then he would look sad. The last day of school he said hi to me then walked away with his girlfriend. The other guy was my friend Caleb. He's still my friend right now. He is one of my best friends actually. We met in marching band when I was twirling my flag. He came over and stole my flag and was like ' :) Mine.' From then on he followed me everythwere. In gym and just in the hallway he would try to pick me up and carry me around. He was always coming up behind me and hugging me. He always sat so close we'd be touching and he would like, use me as a pillow occasionally xD In band we were standing watching another band play and he was behind me with his arms around me and his chin on my shoulder. He's always telling me the funniest stories and such, but he has a girlfriend. I am so confused.

And kate,boys are durpy.Most of them are stupid and try to trick you into thinking they like you.It happened to me.But its best to tell em ^_^

When you like a guy, it always feels like if they're looking in you're direction - they have to be looking at you, staring or something. You start to see things almost when you like a guy, so it could actually be nothing. A smile might mean the world to you but it's nothing for the guy himself. He could consider you just friends, or be interested but not want to do anything about it. That's how most of the world feels. When you look at some one, they usually feel your presence and look back. O.e So I would either just show that you're interested, or ask him instead.

Yeah, well, I totally forgot to post on here that I DID find out if he likes me or not... And he doesn't; at least not like that. He just likes me as a friend. xP Then, my friend Esmeralda told him that I like him, and he was all awkward for a couple days, which I predicted. But then, he pissed me off because he was like that for a whole week. I was like, "Really? Get over yourself"
Buuut, then he started relaxing and we were back to being friends. XD He tried to push me in a pool and wrote in freaking huge letters, " Jimmy thinks your a BEAST!" in my yearbook. :3 So. Yeah. It's chill though, 'cause honestly? All I ever wanted to be to him is a good friend. :D
